BYD registers growth
BYD achieved revenue of US$52,3 billion in the first half of the year.
Shenzhen BYD Company Limited, a leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in China, reported strong growth in profits and revenue in the first half of 2025.
The Shenzhen-based company said it achieved revenue of 371,28 billion yuan (US$52,3 billion) in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 23,3%, and net income attributable to shareholders of 15,51 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13,79%.
The automotive sector, including vehicles and related products, remained the main driver of growth for BYD, while revenues from mobile device components and assembly services declined, the company said.
Notably, BYD significantly increased its R&D investment by 53,05% in the first half of the year, totaling 30,88 billion yuan during the period.
The company also reported robust sales growth, with NEV sales reaching 2.145.954 units, a 33,04% year-over-year increase.
