247 - The Global South Media Dialogue 2025 was held this Wednesday, November 6th, in Xi'an, northwest China, bringing together representatives from the China Global Television Network (CGTN), media outlets from countries in the Global South, and international organizations linked to the sector.
Brasil 247 was one of the participating media outlets, represented by its founder and editor-in-chief, Leonardo Attuch, who was also one of the speakers. In his speech, Attuch highlighted the importance of strengthening the narrative of countries in the Global South and emphasized the risk of conflict in South America, citing threats against Venezuela stemming from misinformation related to drug trafficking. "Latin America is threatened and, more than ever, it is important to strengthen the narrative of the Global South," said Attuch.
During the meeting, participants discussed practical ways of cooperating within the framework of the Global South Media Partners Mechanism, resulting in a consensus document with shared goals.

According to the document, participating media outlets will support the joint production and broadcasting of programs, focusing on common themes such as global governance, economics, the environment, and culture.
The goal is to strengthen the narrative of the Global South through the collaborative selection of topics, organization of coverage, and sharing of completed productions among the media platforms involved.
Creation of a news exchange network
The text also highlights that members of the Global South Media Partner Mechanism will utilize the Global South Media Nexus platform, created to facilitate the efficient circulation and open exchange of high-quality journalistic materials.
The initiative aims to expand personalized cooperation between media outlets, increase efficiency in content production, and raise the quality standard of the information disseminated.
Artificial intelligence and technological innovation
Another central point of consensus is the encouragement of the innovative use of artificial intelligence in the field of communication, with the sharing of technological advances and the modernization of media operating models.
According to the document, this strategy aims to strengthen the technological capacity of media outlets in the Global South, improve communication efficiency, and expand their influence on the international stage.

The Global South Media Dialogue 2025 was held in Xi'an, northwest China, on November 6. They will participate in topic selection, organize coverage, provide completed programs, and promote broadcasting on their respective media platforms.
- Members of the Global South Partner Mechanism will utilize the Global South Media Nexus platform to facilitate the efficient circulation and open sharing of high-quality journalistic materials, premium program resources, and tailored cooperation, enhancing content production efficiency and the quality of participating media outlets.
- Representatives from participating media outlets will support the innovative application of artificial intelligence technology in the field of communication, the timely sharing of technological achievements, and the promotion of the transformation and modernization of media operating models, in order to strengthen the technological capacity of media in the Global South and advance both the improvement of communication efficiency and the increase of its influence.
- Representatives from participating media outlets support strengthening the training of professional talent and creating immersive communication and practice platforms, focusing on sharing experiences in key areas such as innovation in content production, new media operating strategies, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies, as well as offering internship opportunities.
- Representatives from participating media outlets support the normalization of the partnership mechanism, establishing stable and long-term cooperative relationships among members and expanding the power of media from the Global South to play a greater role in improving global governance.
