247 - Brazil reached 512 cases of dengue fever in 2024, according to updated data from the Ministry of Health. The numbers include both confirmed and probable cases, meaning those still under investigation. This information comes from G1.

The numbers include records from all states, from January through February 12. In addition to the cases, 75 deaths from the disease have also been confirmed. Another 217 deaths are under investigation.

This is the age group with the highest rate of hospitalization for dengue within the vaccine's target audience, aged 10 to 14.

In total, 521 Brazilian municipalities were selected to begin dengue vaccination. These cities comprise 37 health regions that, according to the Ministry of Health, are considered endemic for the disease.

The initial batch, containing 712 doses, is being sent to 315 municipalities in the following states: Federal District, Goiás, Bahia, Acre, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Mato Grosso do Sul, Amazonas, São Paulo, and Maranhão.
