247 - Federal deputy Elvino Bohn Gass (PT-RS) highlighted on Monday (23) via Twitter the importance of the meeting between the presidents of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Argentina, Alberto Fernández.

"Argentina is an important trading partner, a country with which we share a border and with whom we have cultural affinities. Regardless of whether the government there is left-wing or right-wing, a good international relationship recommends civilized, fair, and productive treatment of our neighbors," the parliamentarian wrote on Twitter.

The Minister of Finance, Fernando HaddadHe clarified that members of the Brazilian and Argentinian governments are not "advocating a single currency" for the two countries, South America, or Latin America. According to the minister, what is being discussed is "a new approach that does not involve payment in local currencies, but that does not reach the stage of monetary unification."

Also in the economic area, the President Lula He gave signs that he is seeking an agreement to help with an Argentine gas pipeline project that would connect the Vaca Muerta field, one of the world's largest, to the border with Rio Grande do Sul.

The occupant of the Brazilian Planalto Palace apologized to Argentinians for the difficulties in relations and aggressions committed by Jair Bolsonaro's government against Argentina in recent years.
