Civil servant files police report for homophobia: "I don't accept it"
Mateus Schwartz dos Anjos has been suffering a series of attacks and defamation in WhatsApp groups due to photos posted on social media.
Metropolis - Correctional officer Mateus Schwartz dos Anjos filed a police report after being the victim of attacks and defamation in WhatsApp groups of employees of the Secretariat of Justice and Penal and Socio-educational Systems of Rio Grande do Sul (SJSPS).
The complaint was filed as a "homophobic smear campaign originating from colleagues themselves," after the institutional relations advisor posted photos alongside his fiancé. According to the employee, the insults began in 2019, but he only managed to obtain evidence in January.
“If I weren’t very comfortable with this issue, I wouldn’t have posted it on my Instagram. It’s something that doesn’t affect me, but that I don’t accept. My sexuality isn’t taboo for me or my family, but for many other families it still is. So, I decided to report it, so that it serves as an example and so that my colleagues rethink their conduct as public servants.”
