Paraná 247 – The leader of the opposition bloc to the governor of Paraná, Beto Richa (PSDB), state deputy Tadeu Veneri (PT), said in a speech on the floor of the Legislative Assembly that witnesses heard the head of the State's Civil House, Eduardo Sciarra (PSD), ordering that "bombs be thrown" at the teachers who were protesting in the Civic Center of Curitiba last week. The massacre left more than 200 injured, and the violent police action was defended by Richa.

"The person who commanded the operation has a name and surname: Carlos Alberto Richa. And his secretary Franchiscini. And his secretary Sciarra, who was here in the building, even calling and saying: 'plant a bomb, plant a bomb!'. And let him say that's a lie, because we have people who were by his side and heard him on the phone talking," the parliamentarian declared.

Veneri added that those responsible for the repression of the teachers' movement are Governor Richa and the Secretary of Security, Fernando Francischini (Solidariedade), who commanded what he called an "act of cowardice" against state employees. "Don't say that everyone has the same responsibility in this process. That's not true. The responsibility lies with whoever ordered and commanded the operation," he stated.

Veneri also criticized the "cynicism" and "sadism" of the Iguaçu Palace employees in celebrating the police action against the protesters, as shown in a video on social media (watch hereHe called the government's version of events, which claimed there were Molotov cocktails and the presence of Black Bloc members at the demonstrations, "fanciful." "The population saw and drew their own conclusions. There's no point in spreading fanciful versions that people had Molotov cocktails, iron bars, or were Black Bloc members."
