Rio Grande do Sul registers first case of coronavirus. Total rises to 31 in Brazil.

247 - Rio Grande do Sul confirmed the first case of coronavirus in the state. It is a 60-year-old man who recently returned from a trip to Italy. He lives in Campo Bom, in the Vale dos Sinos region, about 55 kilometers from Porto Alegre. Brazil already had 30 confirmed cases on Monday (9), according to the daily bulletin released by the Ministry of Health.

The Campo Bom City Hall stated that the patient was immediately isolated after seeking treatment at a regional hospital. "The patient was kept in home isolation, wore a mask among family members, and none of the relatives showed symptoms. We do not have the virus circulating in society," assures the Secretary of Health of Campo Bom, Suzana Ambros. 

São Paulo accounts for the majority of the 30 coronavirus cases in Brazil – 16 in total. Brazil already had 30 confirmed cases on Monday, March 9th, according to the daily bulletin released by the Ministry of Health: 16 in São Paulo, 13 in Rio de Janeiro, 2 in Bahia, 1 in Alagoas, 1 in Espírito Santo, 1 in Minas Gerais, and 1 in the Federal District.
