Richa orders Requião to 'disappear' from the polls.
Governor Beto Richa (PSDB) has ordered Senator Roberto Requião's (PMDB) name to 'disappear' from polls regarding voting intentions for the Paraná state government in 2018. To this end, he has been convincing the media with generous advertising budgets. According to a report published on Esmael Morais' blog, "the palace order consists of censoring — eliminating — Requião from electoral polls conducted by research institutes" and preventing simulations of scenarios in which Osmar Dias (PDT), Alvaro Dias (PV), and Requião are on the same ticket.
By Esmael Morais Senator Roberto Requião (PMDB) is the "new" bogeyman in the newsrooms of newspapers, TV stations, radio stations, and internet portals in Paraná.
To "convince" editors and media barons in the state, the PSDB party relies on generous advertising funds from public coffers.
The palace order consists of censoring — eliminating — Requião from the electoral polls conducted by research institutes.
In Guarapuava, for example, the senator is leading the race for governor of the state. However, a local newspaper omitted this information from the survey published last week.
In addition to censoring Requião, the Iguaçu Palace has ordered that the Paraná media not conduct simulations of scenarios in which Osmar Dias (PDT), Alvaro Dias (PV), and Requião are on the same platform.
The scheme works as follows: the Iguaçu Palace places an "announcement" in the media outlet, which then commissions the research. All scenarios are explored, but only the one that the "owner" of the money wants is published.
Requião told Blog do Esmael that he conducted a parallel survey in the municipality of Guarapuava and that he will file a complaint against the newspaper's fraud with the Federal Police and the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office.
