Paraná 247 Senator Roberto Requião (PMDB-PR) criticized the alliance between federal deputy Luciano Ducci (PSB), former mayor of Curitiba, and pre-candidate Rafael Greca (PMN). Ducci will no longer be running for mayor this year. "Political scientists have classified the alliance between Richa's group and Greca, through Ducci, as a political collusion on the fringes of morality," Requião tweeted.

State Representative Requião Filho (PMDB), son of the PMDB member, also criticized the alliance. "After the withdrawal of a pre-candidate from Curitiba, it is clear today that a bloc has been formed in favor of public transport businesses against the people," he said on the same social network.

According to the congressman's press office, Ducci decided to withdraw from the election after speaking with his political group. The congressman also said that he spoke with the governor of Paraná, Beto Richa (PSDB), about the matter, his long-time ally in the city. "I conveyed to the governor the PSB's position of supporting candidate Rafael Greca, and he raised no objections," he stated.

Regarding the political differences, Ducci emphasized that everything was overcome in the name of the alliance. The congressman reinforced that he and Greca had been estranged since the pre-candidate allied himself with Senator Roberto Requião (PMDB) a few years ago.

Greca stated that he welcomed Ducci's support, in an interview with Gazeta do Povo. “We started a conversation for the good of Curitiba a week ago, and it was fruitful. The congressman considered the possibility of being a defender of Curitiba at the federal level. I received the offer of support with great satisfaction because it strengthens my candidacy. We are now three parties: PMN, PTN, and PSB,” he added.

Regarding the historic alliance between Ducci and Richa, Greca said that the election debate should revolve around municipal management, not state management. “The discussion isn't about the state government. It's about the city of Curitiba. Our party is Curitiba. I heard that the governor is being approached by Mayor Gustavo Fruet (PDT) to support him. We don't refuse support,” he added.

According to the prospective candidate, the PTC also expressed interest in supporting him.
