Pimenta criticizes "selective journalism" in the coverage of the arrests of mayors in Santa Catarina.

Santa Catarina has seen 18 mayors arrested in one year and two months. "The news reports about the arrests don't originate from the detainees themselves, nor from those they supported for president," he emphasized.

247 - Minister of the Secretariat of Communication (Secom) of the Presidency of the Republic, Paulo Pimenta (PT) published on X, formerly Twitter, this Saturday (27) a criticism of what he called "selective journalism" in the coverage of arrests of mayors in Santa CatarinaThe state had its second mayor arrested in three days this Friday (26). There have been 18 arrests in a year and two months, all suspected of involvement in corruption cases.

"It's interesting that the articles reporting on the arrest of 18 mayors in SC [Santa Catarina] don't mention who the prisoners supported or who they endorsed for governor and president. It's a type of journalism: selective journalism! I haven't seen a single campaign photo with their candidates for 2022 posted so far," the minister criticized.
