Federal Police request the arrest of Conab directors.

Judge Sérgio Fernando Moro, of the Court of Justice of Paraná, accepted a request for preventive detention against ten directors of the National Supply Company (Conab), including its president, Silvio Porto; he is accused of purchasing R$ 11 million worth of grape juice from two cooperatives in Rio Grande do Sul without bidding and of using his connection with Minister Gilberto Carvalho to ignore his subordination to the Minister of Agriculture.

Brazilian Federal Police request arrest of CONAB director and nine others.

A request for preventive detention from the Federal Police against ten directors of the National Supply Company (Conab), including its president, Silvio Porto, who is linked to the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, Minister Gilberto Carvalho, is in the hands of Judge Sérgio Fernando Moro of the Court of Justice of Paraná. This column has learned that the Federal Police are convinced that Porto is the head of an alleged criminal organization accused of diverting funds from the federal Zero Hunger program.
