Municipalities receive R$ 92 million in school transportation funding.

The State Government transferred R$ 92 million to municipalities in 10 monthly installments to transport students; this amount is 200% higher than what was transferred in 2010 for the same service; school meals were another major improvement in quantity and quality; today, almost 50% of the meals served to students come from family farms.

Paraná News Agency - Investments and actions in education are reaching all 399 municipalities in Paraná. More resources are being allocated to school transportation, school meals, improvement and renovation works, and the construction of new schools, benefiting nearly 1,5 million students.

The State Government transferred R$ 92 million to municipalities in 10 monthly installments to transport students. This amount is 200% higher than what was transferred in 2010 for the same service. School meals were another major improvement in quantity and quality. Today, almost 50% of the meals served to students come from family farms. The program directly benefits the health of students and also the income of small rural producers.

Investment in family farming for school meals will increase even further. The government has begun selecting farmers who will supply products to schools in 2014. R$ 58 million is allocated exclusively for the purchase of food from family farms.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS - Schools in Paraná have been transformed into construction sites. From small repairs to major revitalizations and the construction of new schools, there are more than 2 projects spread across all municipalities. Resources arrive through centralized and decentralized bidding processes. In the latter modality, the school defines the priorities together with the community.
