247 - The Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul are investigating a case of extreme violence and mystery involving the discovery of human body parts in a suitcase abandoned in the luggage storage area of the Porto Alegre bus station. This information was revealed by... CNN Brazil, who had access to an image of a ticket taped to the outside of the luggage.

The document contained the name, address, and phone number of an accounting firm located in Canoas, in the Metropolitan Region, an element that caught the attention of investigators due to its apparent attempt to link the crime to third parties.

According to the police, the suitcase was left at the bus terminal on August 20th. The person responsible used false documents to register and resorted to an elaborate disguise, with a mask, sunglasses, and a cap, in an attempt to conceal their identity. Images from surveillance cameras are already being analyzed.

Another detail that reinforces the suspicion of premeditation is that, in addition to the note, the man allegedly left a document in the locker in the name of another person. This person was located and identified by the investigation, but, as clarified by Detective André Luiz Freitas, there is no evidence of their involvement in the crime.

"It's being investigated, but initially, the man who supposedly went to pick up the suitcase has no connection to what happened. His name was put there precisely with the intention of incriminating him," stated the police chief.

The body was only discovered on September 1st, when terminal employees noticed a strong odor coming from the compartment. Inside the suitcase was the torso of a woman. DNA tests confirmed that the remains belonged to the same victim whose arms and legs had been found in a sewer in Porto Alegre the previous month.

With the confirmation, investigators are working on the hypothesis of femicide, although other lines of inquiry have not been ruled out. The Homicide Department is now seeking to identify the suspect who abandoned the suitcase and clarify the connection between the affixed note and the accounting firm mentioned on the paper.

The case remains under investigation and has mobilized teams from different areas of the Civil Police, given the seriousness and degree of planning behind the criminal act.
