Minister of Education defends teachers from PR

Paraná 247 – The Minister of Education, Renato Janine Ribeiro, condemned the police action commanded by Governor Beto Richa (PSDB) against teachers in Paraná last Wednesday, the 29th. The minister considered the police violence "very shocking".

"I haven't seen photos of injured teachers, and of so many injured teachers, in a long time," said Janine Ribeiro. "You can't hit anyone, much less the teachers who teach our children," she added.

He offered the Ministry of Education's services as a mediator in negotiations between the state government and the teachers' union, should there be interest.
