State government - Maringá celebrated the overall title of the Paraná Open Games, which ended on Saturday afternoon (30), in Cascavel. With the achievement, the city receives as a prize a brand new Renault van, the third in the series since the manufacturer established a partnership with the State Secretariat for Sport and Tourism.

The title was only confirmed on the last day of competition, after a fierce week with Cascavel. The two cities alternated in the lead, but the Maringá team gained an advantage in team sports – winning titles in men's handball, men's rugby, women's cycling, men's taekwondo, men's tennis, women's table tennis, and dominating beach volleyball. The final day also included the finals of men's futsal and women's volleyball.

"These are positive results, and we are satisfied and will continue working to always obtain better results," stated the Secretary of Sports and Leisure of Maringá, Maria Iraclézia de Araújo, who attended the latest competitions.

The Secretary of State for Sport and Tourism, Evandro Rogério Roman, also attended the final day of competitions and presented the overall champion trophy and the symbolic key to the van to the Maringá team. He considered the JAPs a successful conclusion to the year.

"It's been a very busy year for the secretariat, with adjustments to the competitions and greater openness to dialogue with municipal leaders, and this is reflected in good participation, with many smaller cities appearing in the rankings and confirming their participation in our competitions. Congratulations to everyone for the success of yet another event."

Last day: Saturday began with judo determining the team champions. After three days of competition, Cascavel took the title in both the men's and women's categories, with Wadhington Donomai standing out as a five-time champion of the competition. Cascavel also won two more titles in shooting.

In rhythmic gymnastics, Toledo confirmed its excellence in the sport, winning all the gold medals.

Campo Mourão concluded its participation with its fifth consecutive men's basketball championship, securing a solid 94-41 victory over Ponta Grossa.

The women's handball team brought joy to the home crowd, winning the title against Paranaguá 29-25.

Maringá celebrated the women's volleyball title with a 3-1 victory over Ponta Grossa, maintaining its dominance. Finally, Maringá also reached the futsal final and closed out the last sport with the final title, completing the celebration at the Sérgio Mauro Festugatto Gymnasium by defeating Ponta Grossa 4-2.

Discipline: Another important award at the Open Games is the Discipline Trophy, which is coordinated by the Special Court of Sports Justice. Municipalities are given a score based on the number of sports they participate in and the number of complaints or lawsuits they are involved in.

The Paraná Open Games are organized by the State Government through the Department of Sport and Tourism, by the Municipality of Cascavel through the Municipal Department of Sport and Leisure, and with the involvement of all Municipal Departments, with the support of the Regional Sports Offices and sponsorship from Renault.
