Paraná 247 - Arrested in the 33rd phase of Operation Lava Jato, former president of Queiroz Galvão Ildefonso Colares Filho and former director Othon Zanoide de Moraes Filho underwent a physical examination at the Forensic Medical Institute (IML), in Curitiba, around 9:30 am this Wednesday (3). The examination lasted about 30 minutes. The two were preventively arrested and there is no set date for their release from prison. There is an open temporary arrest warrant in the name of Marcos Pereira Reis, linked to the Quip consortium, which had the construction company Queiroz Galvão as the leading shareholder.

This was the second arrest of Ildefonso Filho and Othon de Moraes in the Lava Jato operation. In November 2014, they were detained in the seventh phase and released days later by court order.

At this stage, the investigations of the operation focused on Queiroz Galvão, the third largest company in terms of contracts with Petrobras, exceeding R$ 20 billion. The company is suspected of forming a cartel to defraud contracts with the state-owned company; paying bribes through electoral donations and undeclared funds; interfering in the Petrobras Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry; corrupting public officials and politicians; and maintaining employees abroad, far from the reach of Brazilian justice.

Phase 33 was named "Last One Standing" because, according to the Federal Police, Queiroz Galvão was the last construction company missing from the investigation into cartel formation at Petrobras.
