Trial on suspicion of bias in the Lava Jato billboard case is interrupted at the TRF-4 (Regional Federal Court of the 4th Region).
Four judges were removed from their positions, reducing the influence of the Lava Jato task force in the trial.
GGN - The Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF-4), in Florianópolis, began this Thursday (9) the trial of the Incident of Suspicion against the judges of the 12th Panel in the case of the billboard that celebrated the five years of Operation Lava Jato in Curitiba. The session of the 2nd Section confirmed the removal of four magistrates due to suspicion or impediment, forming a panel with fewer ties to the core of Lava Jato. The trial, however, was suspended after a request for review.
The incident was presented by the Lawyers for Democracy Collective (CAAD), within the appeal of the Popular Action filed by Aluízio Palmar and Marcelo Neves, which questions the impartiality of the original judges of the 12th Panel — the same panel that, over the years, has consolidated decisions aligned with the Curitiba group.
