Greca: City hall has a debt of R$ 1,2 billion.

The mayor of Curitiba, Rafael Greca (PMN), released a report indicating that he inherited a debt of R$ 1,27 billion. There are debts to the municipal employees' pension fund, service providers, and hospitals; "It is a feeling of my grave responsibility and my obligation. If I take drastic measures, understand that it is to restore the city hall's capacity to provide goods and services," said the head of the municipal executive.

Paraná 247 - The mayor of Curitiba, Rafael Greca (PMN), released, this Monday (30), a report indicating that he inherited a debt of R$ 1,27 billion. There are debts with the municipal employees' pension fund, with service providers and hospitals. “It is a feeling of my grave responsibility and my obligation. If I take bitter measures, understand that it is to restore to the city hall the capacity for goods and services,” said the head of the municipal executive.

The municipal secretary of Planning, Finance and Budget, Vitor Puppi, cited some debts: Urban cleaning company (R$ 121 million), Hospitals and hospital services (R$ 100 million), Public works (R$ 90 million), school meals (R$ 40 million), Cohab (R$ 40 million) and installment payment for the waste consortium (R$ 30 million).

According to statistics, R$ 600 million is uncommitted, meaning there was no financial reserve to cover the expense. The mayor said the executive branch will make budget cuts. "We cannot continue spending more than we collect," he added.
