Gleisi: "Richa must explain why PR fell in Ideb"
During an event in Palmeira, in the central-eastern part of the state, Paraná gubernatorial candidate Gleisi Hoffmann (PT) highlighted actions in the areas of Education, Health, Agriculture, and Infrastructure; the PT member criticized the government of Beto Richa (PSDB); "It's impossible that after ten days of the IDEB results being released, the governor, in an interview with Gazeta do Povo, says he would look into what happened. That's absurd. The governor should have at his fingertips the reason why Paraná fell in the national ranking for elementary education in the IDEB," she remarked.
Paraná News - The gubernatorial candidate Gleisi Hoffmann participated last Monday (15) in Palmeira, Campos Gerais region, in a meeting with the local community. She was accompanied by the Senate candidate, Ricardo Gomyde, the mayor Edir Havrechaki, the deputy mayor, Marcos Levandovski, among other political leaders.
Gleisi spoke about her proposals for the Campos Gerais region, highlighting actions in the areas of Education. She also spoke about Health, Agriculture, and Infrastructure. She also thanked the 10.215 voters who supported her in the 2010 election, totaling 28,85% of the valid votes in Palmeira. "Our government will be one of much dialogue, just as the federal government has been behaving. If we have an open dialogue table and present what we can resolve and agree on what we cannot, we can make great progress," she said.
Gleisi also spoke about the federal government's allocations for education over the next 10 years, announced by President Dilma Rousseff. "Education will receive 10% of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) from the National Education Plan for the next 10 years, plus another 75% that will be directed from pre-salt oil revenues. President Dilma made a great effort to get it approved," said the candidate.
Planning how these resources will be allocated is one of Gleisi's concerns for education in Paraná. "We need to think about valuing and providing good remuneration for teachers. We have to invest resources to guarantee quality education." Gleisi also questioned the current governor's lack of responsibility, who, in an interview with Gazeta do Povo, was unable to explain why Paraná fell in the IDEB (Basic Education Development Index).
“It’s impossible that, ten days after the release of the IDEB results, the governor, in an interview with Gazeta do Povo, says he would look into what happened. That’s absurd. The governor should have at his fingertips the reason why Paraná fell in the national ranking for elementary education in the IDEB,” commented Gleisi, concluding by stating that if she were the governor, she would have gone to the education department immediately to find out what caused the state to fall in the ranking. The candidate also highlighted that she will have goals to improve education in Paraná and extensive dialogue with the municipalities.
