Families affected by the storm in Paraná will receive up to R$ 50.

The money comes from the State Public Calamity Fund (Fecap).

Families in the city of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, in the interior of Paraná, affected by a strong storm at the end of the afternoon on Friday (7), will receive aid of up to R$ 50, according to an announcement by the state government. In total, R$ 50 million will be allocated to the affected region. The money, according to Hudson Teixeira, state Secretary of Public Security, comes from the State Public Calamity Fund (Fecap).

The resources will be passed directly to families and are an aid for the reconstruction of their homes. The measure was sent to the Legislative Assembly on Saturday (8) and voted on urgently on Sunday (9) by state deputies.

Reconstruction of damaged schools is also authorized. Due to all the destruction in educational institutions, the ENEM exam had to be postponed to another date.

According to the Paraná Environmental Technology and Monitoring System (Simepar), the interior of the state was hit by three tornadoes during Friday's storm. The city of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu suffered damage to approximately 90% of its urban area after the F3 category storm, with winds reaching up to 250 kilometers per hour. The thousands of homeless people are in shelters provided by the local government.

The municipalities of Turvo and Guarapuava also recorded the phenomenon, both of category F2.

In total, six people died and more than 700 were injured, according to information from Civil Defense.
