'It is indignation that makes me stand with Lula,' says Requião.
"Ratinho and Bolsonaro were deceived by the population, and we need to correct that now," stated the candidate for governor of Paraná.
247 - Candidate for governor of Paraná, Roberto Requião (PT) participated this Saturday (17) in a rally in Curitiba, alongside former president Lula (PT), who leads the polls of voting intention to return to government.
Requião stated that his "indignation" with the situation in Brazil led him to ally himself with Lula at this moment. "I am here because of my indignation with what is happening in Brazil today. I am indignant when I see women robbing a garbage truck to feed their families in the country that is the world's largest grain producer. I am indignant when I see women cooking bone soup. I am indignant when they take over Brazil, take away workers' rights, violate retirement to concentrate money in the hands of a handful of people, increasing the working hours of those who work and decreasing their wages. It is indignation that makes me be on this platform."
>>> "Thank you, Curitiba, for everything you have done for me," says Lula.
"More than defending my candidacy, Lula, I am here for you. It's not worth being governor of Paraná if Lula isn't the president of the Republic. The state government has limitations. If we want to solve a series of problems, we need to have a president of Lula's caliber by our side," he concluded.
For Requião, "Lula is indispensable." "I came to this platform as a candidate for governor of the state and as a campaign worker for Lula in Paraná. We need a president of the Republic who identifies with the people and is capable of solidarity."
The candidate described Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and the current governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior (PSD), as mistakes made by the Brazilian and Paraná people in the last election. "We have Ratinho Jr. in the government of Paraná, a mistake from the last election. Ratinho and Bolsonaro were misjudged by the population, and we need to correct that now. It's unacceptable that Brazil loses its sovereignty. It's unacceptable that here in our Paraná, a citizen has to decide at the end of the month whether to pay the water and electricity bill or put food on the table. It's unacceptable that our small and medium-sized businesses, responsible for 80% of the jobs offered to the population, have extremely heavy taxes, while the government gives tax exemptions to multinationals and large companies worth R$ 17 billion. R$ 4,5 billion per year would be enough to correct the salary gap not only for teachers, nurses, doctors, and police officers, but for all public employees."
"We do have the capacity to transform Paraná," he said.
The candidate also said that Bolsonaro's voters were "deceived" by Operation Lava Jato and Globo Network. "I'm not here to attack Bolsonaro supporters, they were deceived. They were deceived by Lava Jato, which tried to criminalize a Brazilian patriot. They were deceived by Globo. A part of the population was misled by the perspective that all politicians would be corrupt and that we should hand Brazil over to financial capital."
