Brazilian congressman compares Richa to the Queen of France.
“We are tired of this Marie Antoinette of Paraná,” said Gilberto Martin, of the PMDB party, referring to the state governor who, according to him, “doesn’t listen to anyone.” The Queen of France became known for the phrase “if the people have no bread, let them eat cake” and ended up being guillotined.
Paraná News - In the discussion that once again took place regarding the toll during Tuesday's session at the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Gilberto Martin, from the PMDB party, ironically compared Governor Beto Richa to the Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, "the one who said that 'if the people have no bread, let them eat cake,' and who ended up being guillotined."
"We're tired of this Marie Antoinette from Paraná," he said, referring to Richa who, according to Martin, "doesn't listen to anyone."
The congressman complained that the governor simply ignored the congressmen's appeal not to authorize the toll rate increase, which went into effect on Sunday.
