247 - State Representative Laura Sito (PT-RS) in Rio Grande do Sul warned of the need for coordination between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches to combat slave labor. "Our symbol cannot be tarnished by slave labor. All those involved must be held accountable. Enough profiting from slavery!", the parliamentarian wrote on Twitter.

The parliamentarian made a video in a context where the press and social media were reporting on the prejudiced statements of councilman Sandro Fantinel (Patriota) from Caxias do Sul (RS), who suggested that agricultural companies hire Argentinian workers because people from Bahia "live on the beach, playing drums." In a speech at the City Council, he made reference to... more than 200 workers rescued in Rio Grande do Sul in conditions similar to slave labor.
