Paraná 247 - The lawyers for PMDB operators Jorge Luz and his son Bruno Luz filed a petition on Thursday (23) in the electronic system of the Federal Court of Paraná, informing Judge Sérgio Moro that the pair will present themselves as soon as possible. The pair are in the United States and are on Interpol's wanted list, the so-called Red Notice.
The courts are investigating the payment of US$40 million in bribes over 10 years to Jorge Antônio da Silva Luz and his son, Bruno Gonçalvez Luz. According to the investigations, the beneficiaries include senators and other politicians, directors and managers of Petrobras.
The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) indicated that the father and son acted as intermediaries between those who wanted to pay and those who wanted to receive bribes involving contracts with Petrobras. To achieve this goal, they used accounts abroad, such as in Switzerland and the Bahamas.
Judge Moro ordered the freezing of R$ 50 million in the bank accounts of Jorge Antônio da Silva Luz and his son, Bruno Gonçalvez Luz. The amount frozen applies to each of the individuals under investigation.
