With an eye on 2014, Gleisi will leave the government in January.

The Chief of Staff is expected to dedicate herself to the race for the state of Paraná starting on January 13th; according to her campaign spokesperson, federal deputy André Vargas (PT), the entry of Senator Roberto Requião (PMDB) into the race could even knock Governor Beto Richa (PSDB) out of the second round.

247 - Chief of Staff Gleisi Hoffmann is expected to be the first to leave her post to run in the 2014 elections. She will go on vacation on January 13th and, from then on, will dedicate herself to her candidacy for governor of Paraná, according to Ilimar Franco of Globo.

Gleisi's main opponent in the state is Governor Beto Richa (PSDB), who is running for reelection. However, according to federal deputy André Vargas, the minister's spokesperson, the presence of Senator Roberto Requião (PMDB) in the race makes the contest unpredictable.

In an interview with radio host Luiz Carlos Martins on Rádio Banda B, Vargas says that the PMDB candidate could even knock Governor Beto Richa (PSDB) out of the second round, as happened in Curitiba in the 2012 elections, when former mayor Luciano Ducci (PSB), an ally of the PSDB candidate, was left behind.

André Vargas interpreted the numbers from Paraná Pesquisas published yesterday (22) by the newspaper Gazeta do Povo, where, in a more credible scenario, Beto Richa (PSDB) leads with 43%, Gleisi Hoffmann (PT) has 24% and Roberto Requião (PMDB) starts with 20% (With information Esmael's Blog).
