Curitiba leads the national ranking for transparency.

Curitiba ranked first in this year's National Ranking of Transparency Portals; organized by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), the ranking analyzes best practices for citizens to access public management information online; Florianópolis, Porto Alegre, and Recife also achieved a perfect score; according to the survey, the MPF analyzed the Transparency Portals of 5.567 municipalities, 26 states, and the Federal District; in the first ranking, in 2015, Curitiba had achieved an average of 8,10.

Paraná 247 - Curitiba came in first place in this year's National Ranking of Transparency Portals. Organized by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), the ranking analyzes best practices for citizens to access public management information online. Florianópolis, Porto Alegre and Recife also achieved a score of 10. According to the survey, released on Wednesday (8), the MPF analyzed the Transparency Portal of 5.567 municipalities, 26 states and the Federal District. In the first ranking, in 2015, Curitiba had reached an average of 8,10.

Among the topics evaluated are the availability of revenue and expenditure information on the websites for the last six months; the previous year's management report; the content search tool; the full text of bidding documents and signed contracts; and the possibility of requesting information electronically.

 The state average for municipalities also improved, rising from 4,22 to 6,10. Paraná moved up one position relative to the other federative units, reaching seventh place. The score on the Paraná government website was 8,70. 

According to the Brazilian Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), governments that fail to comply with the transparency law in Brazil will be sued. It is expected that 1.987 public civil actions will be filed.
