Cunha requests transfer to prison in the Federal District.
Former congressman Eduardo Cunha (PMDB-RJ) has requested a transfer from the Pinhais Medical Complex in Curitiba, where he is currently imprisoned, to a prison unit in the Federal District. According to his defense, the legal proceedings against him in Curitiba concluded with his conviction and sentencing to 15,4 years in prison. The request was made to Judge Vallisney de Souza Oliveira of the 10th Federal Court of the Federal District, who forwarded the material to Judge Sérgio Moro of the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba, responsible for the Lava Jato cases in the first instance, for a decision on the transfer.

Cunha, however, is a defendant in another criminal case in the Federal District, which investigates irregularities in the FI-FGTS, in the same process where the money launderer Lucio Funaro, identified as a bribe operator for the PMDB party, signed a plea bargain agreement with the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF).
