ANALYSIS – Ana Silvia Martins Franco, an economist at the Macroeconomics and Economic Outlook Center of the Paraná Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes), says the research "confirms the stage of marked dynamism shown by the variables of the job market in Paraná, anchored in agribusiness and metalworking."

She points out that the General Registry of Employed and Unemployed Workers (Caged) from the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) shows that Paraná was responsible for 11,7% of the net jobs, with formal contracts, in the manufacturing industry (with higher remuneration) generated in Brazil, in the 12 months ending in July 2013.

"Of the industrial jobs, 99,5% were created in the interior of the state, corroborating the trend of geographical spread of the expansion of the industrial labor market experienced by Paraná," said Ana Silvia.

RECOVERY According to the economist, the growth in the workforce employed in Paraná's industry reflects the recovery of production levels in the manufacturing sector and the maturation of investments by companies that have been establishing themselves in Paraná since the beginning of 2011.

"In this context, the positive influence of the investment attraction policy and the enhancement of the productive sector stands out, thanks to the Paraná Competitivo Program, which has already attracted more than R$ 25 billion in investments to the State, in addition to the works to restore and expand the competitiveness of the infrastructure," said the economist.
