Paraná 247 - The investigating committee formed by the City Council to investigate the complaint against councilwoman Kátia Dittrich (SD) decided, on the afternoon of this Friday (15), to continue with the complaint. The committee must hear witnesses and analyze evidence. The councilwoman is suspected of demanding part of the salary of advisors who worked in her office. According to Kátia, the former employees who denounced her made deposits into her account of their own accord. Five former commissioned employees who worked in Kátia's office filed the complaint. They said that the councilwoman acted with the help of her husband and threatened them with possible dismissal.
In one of these cases, a former aide, who preferred to remain anonymous, presented proof of a R$ 5 deposit into Kátia's account. The councilwoman justified this by saying she was experiencing financial difficulties because her husband needed surgery. She stated that the aide made the donation to support her efforts in caring for stray animals. "The money was intended for the purchase of food, vaccines, and other expenses related to caring for stray animals," she stated in the document.
The former aide denied giving the money willingly. "She asked me for a one-time payment of R$ 5 and said she needed the money. I commented that I didn't have it. She said that I should find a way to get the money she needed. I absolutely did not donate or give this money away. I don't have money to spare to go around distributing," she added. The accounts were published on G1.
The complaint mentions another transfer of R$ 1, made by a former aide of Kátia. The councilwoman said she made a loan to the then-employee because his mother needed medical treatment. "Since it was not a financial situation, but rather a choice to help someone in need, there was no documentation of such a request," says a section of the parliamentarian's defense.
The former employee denied the alleged loan.
