247 - Deputy Elvino Bohn Gass (PT/RS), vice-leader of the Lula government in the National Congress, clarifies: Federal deputy Elvino Bohn Gass (PT-RS) stated that "the Bolsonaro government's Plano Safra (agricultural plan) made available only R$ 19,8 billion for the BNDES (Brazilian Development Bank) to use in more than 10 programs, including Rural Credit".

"Everyone knew that this amount was insufficient. Historically, demand has always been much higher. That's why, in October of last year, the Bolsonaro government itself halted Rural Credit," he said.

"When we took office, there wasn't a single cent for Rural Credit. So, our government managed to allocate R$ 2,9 billion in additional resources for rural producers and their cooperatives. So much so that, on January 26th of this year, the contracts reopened. However, the demand had been suppressed for months and the resources were consumed in just a few days," he added.
