"We currently have neither the perspective nor the conditions to do it [New Year's Eve]. From the beginning, we talked about this, both regarding future actions, and that we would need to have the technical conditions to do this visualization. And we also have this technical condition in relation to Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is also canceled in Blumenau," said Hildebrandt.
In April, the city downplayed the impact of the pandemic. shopping malls reopened and trade, resulting in an increase in the number of confirmed cases.
According to the latest bulletin from the state government, Blumenau has almost 4,4 cases of Covid-19, including 41 deaths, and is part of one of the state regions in a very serious situation due to the new coronavirus.
