Beto Richa raffles off Dias in favor of the PMDB party heading towards 2014.
Governor Beto Richa, of the PSDB party, had dinner with former governor Orlando Pessuti, secretary-general of the PMDB party; the PSDB member offered the PMDB member a Senate candidacy on his ticket; as a result, Senator Álvaro Dias is out of a position, as he would be left without a party to run for reelection.
Esmael's Blog - Governor Beto Richa, from PSDB, had dinner in the early hours of this Friday (6) at the Casarão da XV restaurant, in Maringá, with former governor Orlando Pessuti, secretary-general of PMDB.
While enjoying a mozzarella pizza, the politician from the PSDB party went straight to the point: he offered the PMDB member a Senate candidacy on his ticket. In this type of alliance for 2014, Senator Álvaro Dias would be the one who loses out, as he would be left without a party to run for reelection.
Pessuti only heard the proposal and went to think about it in bed at the Hotel Bristol, "coincidentally," the same one where Richa was staying.
The PSDB governor's obsession with having the PMDB on his side is so great that, if Pessuti doesn't accept the Senate seat, he stated he would like to see Congressman Osmar Serraglio as his running mate. In that case, Ratinho Júnior, from the PSC, would be the one left out of the race.
However, the dream ticket for the Iguaçu Palace would be: Beto Richa, governor; Ratinho Júnior, vice-governor; and Pessuti, senator.
Two important impressions emerged from last night's dinner at Casarão da XV: 1- Richa desperately wants to get rid of Álvaro, as he is in no way useful for his reelection; and 2- Pessuti is dying to wear a pair of silk underpants.
