247 - The Fire Department is searching for a Brazilian Air Force (FAB) plane that lost signal on Friday afternoon (4). in the Tijucas region, in Greater Florianópolis, in Santa Catarina. According to Lieutenant Colonel Diogo Losso, the T-25 training aircraft from the Air Force Academy is based in Pirassununga, in the state of São Paulo, and has a capacity for two people. The disappearance occurred 30 miles north of Florianópolis (48 km), the capital of Santa Catarina.

According to the G1 portalThe lieutenant reported that the department received a call around 16:40 PM. The last known location, according to the department, was between the municipalities of Canelinha and Tijucas.

"We can't say for sure if it crashed or made a forced landing. The weather there is bad, but I can't say if it was raining at that moment. Nor can I say if that was a factor that may have contributed to the disappearance," said the fire department official.

According to the colonel, "the aircraft may have anticipated a forced landing." "Until some actual indication or wreckage, or a part of the aircraft, is found, we have no way of confirming whether it crashed or made a forced landing. Even if it made a forced landing, the condition of the pilots, none of that [is possible to know]," he said.

Firefighters reported that a team from the Arcanjo 05 helicopter is flying over the region. The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has activated its search and rescue resources.
