Accident on BR-277 kills four people in Paraná.
A head-on collision between two vehicles at kilometer 612 of the BR-277 highway, in Santa Tereza do Oeste, Paraná, resulted in the death of four people and left four injured; Federal Highway Police officers who responded to the incident reported that the head-on collision occurred when one of the drivers attempted an overtaking maneuver in a prohibited area.

A head-on collision between a Chevrolet Agile and a Fiat Palio Week that occurred at 4:30 am today (25) at kilometer 612 of BR-277, in Santa Tereza do Oeste, Paraná, resulted in the death of four people and left four injured.
According to the Federal Highway Police, documents found in the vehicles indicate that the two cars were transporting residents of the municipality of Céu Azul in Paraná state.
In the Agile were a 28-year-old man, who was driving the car, and a 27-year-old female passenger. Both died at the scene. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) also reported that the Palio Weekend was overloaded. Among the six people in the vehicle, one was a 3-year-old child.
The 53-year-old driver of the Palio and a 52-year-old female passenger died at the scene. The others were rescued with serious injuries. The four deceased were in the front seats.
Federal highway police officers who responded to the incident reported that the head-on collision occurred when the Palio vehicle, which was heading towards Foz do Iguaçu, allegedly attempted to overtake in an area where it was prohibited by signage and collided with the Agile, which was heading towards Cascavel.
