247 - The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, will hardly escape impeachment, according to journalist Bernardo Mello Franco. "The Rio de Janeiro Legislative Assembly approved the opening of impeachment proceedings against Wilson Witzel. The governor didn't even get the votes of his own party, the PSC. He was thrashed 69-0, a score that would make even Felipão's national team envious," he says in his article. column.

"The unanimous vote indicates that the former judge already has one foot out of Guanabara Palace. In fact, his term began to crumble even before the vote. In the last two weeks, he lost six secretaries. The exodus included the government leader in the Alerj (Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly), who also voted against his former ally."
