247 - Federal deputy Rogério Correia (PT-MG) highlighted the importance of approval of the Transition Amendment, this Wednesday (21), in the second round by the Chamber of Deputies.

"It's the return of investments in health, education, and social areas," said the congressman. "The monstrosity of the spending cap is over. Congratulations to the people, congratulations to Lula. We have begun a new era of investments for the Brazilian people," he added.

>>> Lula decides that Wellington Dias will be Minister of Social Development, a position desired by Tebet.

According to the new proposal, the government of president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will have R$ 145 billion outside the spending cap for one year and, as a consequence, will leave the Bolsa Família benefit at R$ 600 plus an additional R$ 150 per family with children up to 6 years old.

According to the spending cap rule, approved during Michel Temer's (MDB) government and supported by Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the investment made by the federal government in a given year must correspond to that of the previous 12 months, adjusted only for inflation. This measure harms public services and removes social rights from a portion of the Brazilian population.
