"Boulos' video with Datena was a planned message," says Joaquim de Carvalho.
In an interview with TV 247, a journalist said that the video was a message from Boulos to the PT (Workers' Party), signaling that he wants a vice-presidential candidate "from another camp in order to attract votes" in the 2024 election.
247 Journalist Joaquim de Carvalho reacted to the leaked video of a conversation between federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (Psol) and Datena (PDT), where the presenter suggests to the parliamentarian that he be his vice-presidential candidate on a ticket to run for mayor of São Paulo in 2024. In an interview with TV 247 this Tuesday (4), Carvalho pointed out that he does not believe in a video leak, but in a planned action.
“This video wasn’t leaked, it was an indiscretion by someone who participated in the meeting. It’s clear that it was a political action, and Boulos is sending a message. Obviously, Datena said that whoever released it is a ‘scoundrel,’ Boulos also criticized it… Naturally, it was a planned action. It would be absolutely naive of me to say, ‘Oh, there was some traitor there who participated and leaked it, poor Boulos…’ Of course not. Imagine someone filming and recording the whole time during a conversation,” he pointed out.
>>> Understand why Datena is terrible company for the left.
According to Carvalho, the excerpt from the video that went viral on the internet is a message from Boulos to the PT (Workers' Party). “They talked for five or six hours, and what was released is a more sensitive part, and it's a message from Boulos. What is the message? 'I'm going to be a candidate and I'd like to have someone from another political camp to bring in votes,' that is, Datena. Datena isn't going to be a candidate; he earns much more as a presenter. So he's not going to be a candidate, he'll never be a candidate. So Boulos wants someone – or has the possibility of having someone – from another political camp, which would be an Alckmin on his ticket,” he pointed out. An agreement signed between Boulos and the PT last year foresees the PT's support for Boulos in the race for mayor of São Paulo next year, but it is also expected that the PT will occupy the vice-mayor position on the PSOL (Socialism and Liberty Party) ticket.
The journalist also commented on the PT's reaction. through the party's communications secretaryJilmar Tatto, who immediately understood the message sent by the PSOL member, explained: “And what is the PT’s immediate response through Jilmar Tatto? Join the PT, and then you’ll have a vice-presidential candidate who could be from another political camp. Now, it’s impossible to imagine the PT staying out of the election, not even competing with a vice-presidential candidate. That’s out of the question.”
