Armed men fired shots at the Pacifying Police Unit around 20:30 PM; no one was injured; the community has approximately 36 residents and is located within a 2-kilometer radius of the Jacaré, Maria da Graça, Bonsucesso, and Benfica neighborhoods.

Rio de Janeiro - The Pacifying Police Unit (UPP) of the Manguinhos Complex, in the northern zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, was attacked last night (25) by several armed men. The action began around 20:30 pm and there was a shootout with UPP police officers.
The intelligence service of the Pacifying Police Unit (CPP) reported that the group received support from men from the Jacarezinho community, which is located nearby.
Despite the shooting, no one was injured. Residents were startled by the gunfire and reported on social media that the attack lasted about ten minutes. Police from other UPPs (Pacifying Police Units) were called in to reinforce policing in the area. No one was arrested.
According to estimates from the Pereira Passos Institute, a research body of the Rio de Janeiro city government, the Manguinhos Complex has approximately 36 residents and is located within a 2-kilometer radius of the neighborhoods of Jacaré, Maria da Graça, Bonsucesso, and Benfica. The UPP (Pacifying Police Unit) was inaugurated on January 16th of this year.
