One person died and 40 were injured in a structure collapse during a party in São Paulo.

According to the organization, intense gusts of wind hit the area.

Brazil Agency - One person died and about 40 were injured when a metal structure collapsed at the Aeropark Clube de Voo Desportivo, in Regente Feijó, in the interior of São Paulo, due to strong gusts of wind, approximately 95 km/h, that hit the state.

The location, at Rodovia Raposo Tavares, 555 (SP-270), km 555, was hosting a party for medical students.

A 47-year-old man was struck by a tree branch and suffered a head injury. He received medical attention but did not survive his injuries.

Civil defense teams from Presidente Prudente and Regente Feijó, as well as the São Paulo state fire department, assisted in rescuing approximately 40 victims, according to reports from the teams at the scene.

All were taken to the Regional Hospital and the Santa Casa de Presidente Prudente. Of the victims treated, three remain hospitalized, and the others suffered minor injuries and were released after treatment.

Through their social media channels, the graduation committee promoting the event and Euphoria, the company hired to organize it, stated that strong winds damaged the structure installed at the site, resulting in the accident. Both expressed their condolences and said they have been assisting the victims and their families since the moment of the accident.
