One year after the tragedy, São Sebastião experiences storms again and the warning siren is activated (video)

247 - A year after the tragedy that left 64 dead in São Sebastião (SP), the city on the coast of São Paulo once again registered a strong storm. Streets were flooded and the siren installed in Vila Sahy was activated, on the afternoon of this Tuesday (20), advising residents to leave their homes and go to safe places because of the risk of landslides.

According to information released by the city hall, there is a high risk of landslides and flooding because the accumulated rainfall reached 74 millimeters of water in 1 hour, a volume considered high.

In the alert broadcast over loudspeakers and sirens, residents were advised to leave their homes if they were living in areas vulnerable to the consequences of the storms. "Civil Defense informs: there is a risk of landslides in this area. Attention residents: go to safe places and meeting points," said the emergency announcement.
