Three arrested after robbing bars in Ipanema.
Victims reportedly alerted military police, who arrested the criminals after robberies at two bars on the same street; a patrol from the 23rd BPM also recovered belongings such as cell phones and money.
Rio 247 - Military police arrested two men and detained a 15-year-old minor in the early hours of Monday (31) in Ipanema after robberies in two bars in the same neighborhood. A .38 caliber revolver, four rounds of ammunition, a hunting knife, approximately R$400, two cell phones and a GPS device were seized from them. The robbers are believed to be residents of the Manguinhos Complex.
The establishments – Bar Panorama and Cafezinho da Lagoa, on Rua Maria Quitéria – were open when the trio announced the robberies. One of the victims alerted a patrol from the 23rd BPM (Leblon), which managed to arrest Jeová da Costa Silva, 20 years old; Edson Almeida da Silva, 18, and the minor on Rua Nascimento Silva, at the corner of Farme da Amoedo. The criminals did not resist arrest. The case was registered at the 14th DP (Leblon).
