Tatto says that the PT "is too big not to have a candidate" and defends Boulos within the party.
The Secretary of Communication argues that Guilherme Boulos should join the PT (Workers' Party).
247 - The Secretary of Communication for the Workers' Party (PT), Jilmar Tatto, argues that Guilherme Boulos, the PSOL's pre-candidate for mayor of São Paulo, should join the PT. "If an agreement was made, we will honor it. But we will discuss the basis of this agreement. Boulos could come to the PT, for example. The PT is too big to be without a candidate in the city. For Boulos, it would be the best thing in the world." Tatto told journalist Guilherme Caetano, from Globo.
"The situation is not good for the PT. Municipal elections are a time for parties to assert themselves and grow. We cannot give that up," he added. Since 2012, the party has been losing cities. In that year, it won 637 mayoralties. In 2016, 254. In the last election, the number fell to 183.
Yesterday, Boulos was at the center of a controversy....when an audio recording leaked in which presenter José Luiz Datena, at the home of the PSOL member, argues that he should challenge President Lula and not give up the vice-presidential slot to the PT.
