Sale of antiretroviral drug used in AIDS treatment suspended.

Product manufactured by a company in Goiás state will be subject to new sanitary regulations; the measure was published in the official gazette.

Agência Brasil - The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has determined, as a measure of sanitary interest, the suspension of the distribution, sale and use of the drug Lamivudine 10 milligrams, oral solution. The resolution was published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Union.

 The product, manufactured by a company in Goiás state, is an antiretroviral drug used to treat patients with AIDS. The measure was adopted primarily due to notifications forwarded to Anvisa (Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency) regarding the appearance of the medication.
