247 - Pedro Vinícius Perdidor, 21, arrested after killing a 4-year-old boy at the child's birthday party this weekend in Piabetá, in the Baixada Fluminense region of Rio de Janeiro, is a former Army soldier and tried to flee the scene of the crime. Enzo, 4, was shot in the chest during the celebration.
Perdidor awaits custody hearing this Tuesday (9) and may have his arrest converted to preventive detention.
Vanessa Maurício Maia, Enzo's mother, recounted the boy's suffering. "Enzo started crying. He went after a 10-year-old boy, choked him, and told Enzo he had to shut up and swallow his tears," she said. The interview was published in... G1 portal.
"I closed the window and closed the door, and my children came to stand near me. Then Enzo went to the gate and he (Pedro) followed. But I didn't imagine he would do that. Then we heard the gunshot. We ran to the gate, got there and saw my little one lying there, and him holding him, punching him. 'Stand up, stand up, stand up,'" the mother recounted.
Enzo's sister, Juliana, stated that Pedro gave several versions of what happened. "He said the gun fell and fired by itself. Then he said he found the gun right there in front of him. And then he said Enzo tried to take the gun from him. Then he said Enzo tried to hug him and the gun went off. Nobody understands, there's no explanation for this," she lamented.
