Sesi and Senai invest R$ 30 billion in innovation.

Technological and social innovation projects that include the development of products, processes, and services provided by the Sistema S services are eligible for funding; interested companies have until the 25th of this month to register.

Agência Brasil - The Social Service of Industry (Sesi) and the National Service of Industrial Training (Senai) are launching today (2) the ninth Innovation Notice. R$ 30 million will be invested in technological and social innovation projects that include the development of products, processes and services provided by the services of the S System. Interested companies have until the 25th of this month to register. 

Proposals for industrial products, processes, and services from all sectors are eligible, including food and beverages, chemicals, oil and gas, metallurgy, plastics, and rubber. The investment limit per project is R$ 300, but if the proposal has both social and technological impact, it can reach R$ 400. 

The R$30 million investment will be divided among projects developed in conjunction with Senai, which will receive R$20 million, Sesi (R$7,5 million), and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) (R$2,5 million). According to the coordinator of the call for proposals, Marcelo Gaspar, the initiative could generate investments of up to R$80 million in innovation.

The results will be announced on September 14th. The projects will begin in January 2013 and must be developed over a period of 20 months. The regional departments of Sesi and Senai will make their laboratories and technicians available to meet the needs of the projects. Since its creation, 284 companies have benefited from the Innovation Grant.
