247 - Around 60 public security officers from Minas Gerais held another protest on Wednesday (9), at Praça da Estação, in the center of Belo Horizonte, demanding better treatment for their category, reports the newspaper State of Minas Gerais.

Civil servants are pressuring the state government to honor the agreement signed in 2019, which deals with the compensation of wages for inflationary losses in three installments - one of 13% and two of 12%.

Civil Police, Military Police, Firefighters, and other categories of officers have stated that they may paralyze their activities if their demands are not heard by Governor Romeu Zema (Novo).

"If Zema doesn't pay, the police will strike!", shouted the public employees. They blame Zema for "not keeping his word".

“From the beginning, we have been claiming that the governor owes us something. He made a commitment to us to compensate for 24% of the losses due to inflation. It's not a readjustment, it's not an increase, it's compensation,” pointed out Aline Lisi, director of the Brazilian Confederation of Civil Police Workers (Cobrapol).
