São Paulo breaks record for daily Covid-19 deaths.
On Tuesday (16), the state of São Paulo registered a new record of deaths caused by Covid-19, with 365 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Sputnik - Data from the São Paulo State Health Department also points to a record 8.825 registered cases of the disease. With this, on Tuesday (16), the state reached 190.285 cases and 11.132 deaths. São Paulo is the state most affected by the new coronavirus pandemic in Brazil.
As published by the G1 portal, however, a statistical issue causes an accumulation of deaths counted on Tuesdays. The previous record for deaths occurred on Wednesday (10), when 340 deaths were reported across the state.
On Monday (15), the São Paulo state government announced that the state had for the first time a lower weekly number of deaths than the previous week. Despite this, the difference was three deaths. Between June 7 and 13 there were 1.523 deaths in São Paulo, while between May 31 and June 6 the number was 1.526 deaths.
According to the latest figures released on Tuesday afternoon (16) by the media consortium in partnership with the Health Departments, Brazil has 44.657 deaths caused by the new coronavirus and a total of 904.734 confirmed cases.
