Ronnie Lessa, Marielle Franco's killer, reaches plea bargain agreement with the Federal Police.

The former military police officer's cooperation still needs to be approved by the Superior Court of Justice.

247 -Former military police officer Ronnie Lessa, who carried out the murders of councilwoman Marielle Franco and her driver Anderson Gomes, has reached a plea bargain agreement with the Federal Police, according to the journalist. Laura Jardim In his column in the newspaper O Globo, he is already revealing details of the crime to investigators. "Lessa's collaboration, however, still needs approval from the STJ [Superior Court of Justice]. His testimony settles the case," the report highlights. 

In early January, the director-general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, stated that the investigation would be concluded in the first quarter of this year. Marielle Franco was murdered by members of organized crime in March 2018 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. 

Former police officer Élcio Queiroz admitted to investigators that he was driving the car from which shots were fired at the then-parliamentarian and, according to him, Ronnie Lessa was responsible for the shooting. The former police officer was arrested in 2019.
