247 - Congressman Rogério Correia (PT-MG) filed a complaint this Monday, the 22nd, against Congresswoman Carla Zambelli (PSL-SP) in the Supreme Federal Court (STF), for inciting attacks by Bolsonaro supporters on the social media accounts of the congressman from Minas Gerais

Last Friday (19) Congressman Rogério Correia released a request sent to the STF to retain the passport of Abraham Weintraub, former Minister of Education who is being investigated in the fake news inquiry, for crimes against democracy and for racism. Carla Zambelli, who is also being investigated in the fake news inquiry, reacted to the publication saying that the congressman would receive a “Bolsonarist tsunami”.

Hours after Zambelli's post, Rogério Correia received numerous messages and comments from "bots" and, simultaneously, concrete threats to his life and physical integrity, as well as insults to his image and honor.

Carla Zambelli further downplayed and minimized the threats suffered by Rogério Correia, saying "you pushed your luck, now deal with it." A normalization and justification for the crimes she herself encouraged.

The document submitted to the Court recalls that Congresswoman Joice Hasselmann stated: "A target is chosen. An attack is planned, and the bots come in. That's why, in a matter of minutes – 5, 10 minutes, sometimes – we have information spread throughout Brazil." In other words, the modus operandi used against Rogério Correia.

"The complaint is not limited to the threats I suffered, but also to the risks that democratic institutions and all Brazilian citizens are subject to with these practices," says Congressman Rogério Correia. "It is unacceptable that this act should go unpunished," he added.
