Rio de Janeiro – Petrobras president Graça Foster said today (16) that of the US$230 billion in investments planned by the company for the period 2013-2018, US$120 billion will be allocated to the state of Rio de Janeiro.
Graça spoke to business leaders during the Rio+Empreendedor award ceremony, organized by Lide Rio and Agência Rio Negócios, where she was honored for her work leading the company.

According to her, nine production units were completed by the company this year, with an installed capacity of 1 million barrels per day. More than half of the production will come from fields in Rio de Janeiro state.

"For the first time in Petrobras' history, nine oil production units have been completed this year. In 2012, there was one unit, and in 2011, one unit. So, nine this year. That's an additional 1 million barrels of installed capacity. And we have just over 600 barrels in Rio de Janeiro," he said.

She also mentioned Petrobras' responsibility in keeping the country's offshore industry active and the challenge of building the Rio de Janeiro Petrochemical Complex (Comperj). "We have a major challenge, which is Comperj, a project to which we have dedicated ourselves intensely so that we can progress from a physical and financial standpoint. We will finish the project at the planned cost. This is extremely important, and that's how it has been," she emphasized.

Graça Foster highlighted that Petrobras' growth is linked to the city's development. "Our Reduc [Duque de Caxias Refinery], the Petrobras Research Center, all of these are commitments and duties to this wonderful city. That's why Petrobras' growth is intimately connected to the development of Rio de Janeiro," she said.
